Jist
Jist is breaking ground in the world if smoking cessation. Their electronic cigarettes offer smokers a friendlier, more socially-acceptable alternative to smoking. MMi was brought on board to help translate Jist's lifestyle vision into an online environment: cool, clean, sexy and hip.
MMi created a sleek, stylish site to introduce users to their brand. The site utilizes flash to create the effects of haze and clean blue smoke, and offers users videos, interactive modules, and organized information about this new technology.
MMi also helped Jist to develop an e-commerce storefront to sell their product. Our integrated, customized e-commerce technology allows for a seamless transition between information acquisition and purchasing, thereby a better user experience, and ultimately a more effective site.

Equisearch.com
If a company you’d never heard of sent a letter offering to find money you didn’t know you had, you’d be suspicious. EquiSearch sends hundreds of those letters each week, and they needed a site that would turn skeptics into customers.
The new site had to immediately establish the company’s credentials for both individuals and institutions. At the same time, it also had to make a confusing and misunderstood business crystal clear. A brief Flash introduction and supporting copy established the brand and the integrity of the business.
From there, EquiSearch wanted holders of lost assets to actually start the recovery process. But they weren't ready to support a Web application to process claims. The new site solved the problem, and laid the groundwork for the next release, with a step-by-step walk through that takes users from making a claim to money in the bank.

Meredith Publishing: Better Recipes
In 2007, Meredith Publishing hired MMi to help them redesign Betterrecipes.com, a robust, extensive website where users can share recipes and interact with other cooking aficionados. The site design successfully merges clean design and a strong information architecture to maintain the dozens of categories and thousands of recipes stored on the site. Sections are clearly delineated throughout the homepage, featuring the wealth of content that is available on the site. Not only was MMi able to leverage the content Meredith had previously on the site, but also included new areas not before available on the site, such as a “Cookbook Creator” and a “Wine Guide.”
Recently, MMi has created a Better Recipes Widget, that allows users to have much of the content on the site available from the convenience of one’s desktop. Through the widget, users view most popular recipes, can vote on their favorite recipes, and even find dinner recipes through ingredients on hand.

Top Baby Names
TopBabyNames.com was created for Meredith Publishing by Market Maker Interactive in the fall of 2008. TopBabynames.com features over 60,000 names in their database, along with their popularity rating in every state in the United States. The site offers comprehensive information about name rankings by both state, gender, popularity and category.
In the site design, MMi chose to use a gender agnostic color palette that would be appealing to both male and female prospective parents, concentrating on a clean, fun design that would present the information as cleanly and easily as possible. Flash functionality is integrated throughout the site, to allow fun surprises to be discovered by the user: the main navigation and the interactive U.S. map on the homepage, which allows the user to click through the states to learn their name statistics.
-
Meredith Flash Widgets
Meredith Publishing employed Market Maker Interactive to develop a set of “grabbable” widgets to disseminate their message and content on to users web pages and virally syndicate that message beyond through secondary and tertiary acquisitions of the widgets.
These acquisitions served Meredith’s business strategy through serving increased site traffic, more advertisement impressions, and broader brand recognition for the following brands: Parents, Fitness, BetterRecipes.com, and TopBabyNames.com.
The widgets, 5 in all, are robust applications that offer the user a wide user-utility and content.
